Once a year, on the second Sunday of August, the blacksmith opens the door to the forge and lets us view the handiwork. Heats and shapes, heats and shapes until the nail, hinge or whatever it may be he is shaping is ready. Because the sun always shine on this special day, the weather has got its own name: Dammtôrpavä’r (Dammtorp’s weather after the place where this all happens). #infrared_photography #summer #retrospective #smithing #blacksmith #historic_crafting #ironwork #visittiveden #tivedsdagen #dammtorpadagen #creativeinfrared_world #visitlaxa #old_forge #historical_forge #forgeLäs mer ->

Old freight cars have such a beautiful patina. The wind-ravaged wood, the rusted metal. The remains of what was once shipped are mixed with the plant power in the shipping space. It is so exciting what power there is in life, what will to get ahead and survive even for the smallest blade of grass. #railroad #railway #railroadphotography #railroads_of_our_world #railroadstation #visitvadstena #visitostergotland #infocuswomen #fotogaris #railwaystation #railways_of_our_world #railways_of_europe #railway_station #railwaysofinstagram #freightcart #infrared_world #infrared_photography #train_nerds #trainphotography #trainart #trainsofinstagramLäs mer ->

Arrival! Travel is associated with so many different emotions. Some trips are just for fun, others are forced out of necessity. For me, it’s usually a combination of both because I usually take the train when I go to the office and work. I work remotely from home, so the times I have to go to work turn into pleasant outings with little chance for social interaction. #railroad #railway #railroadphotography #railroads_of_our_world #railroadstation #visitvadstena #visitostergotland #infocuswomen #fotogaris #railwaystation #railways_of_our_world #railways_of_europe #railway_station #railwaysofinstagram #passengertrain #infrared_world #infrared_photography #passengercar #train_nerds #trainphotography #trainart #trainsofinstagramLäs mer ->

An old Chevrolet behind some leafs and grass.

The other day I went to town with my youngest son for some shopping and a photo walk. Askersund is a cozy little town with many of the old wooden bulidings left and some new wooden buildings added. There are more “modern” dwellings to around the center but central town has its own charm. I will post images later because it happened to be a club meet for Chevrolet owners that we could try our different skills at. This yellow one (don’t ask me any more details about it furter than that is is a Chevrolet :-D) seems to have been very photogenic becaus weLäs mer ->
